Robert H C Sims, orn 15 Nov 1844, died 14 Dec 1926, son of Matthew and Dorothy Sims, who lied here most of their lives; enlisted n Co H, 2d Mounted Tennessee Infantry during Civil War and was taken risoner by Confederte Army. Ben Martin was also there, they made their escape. He was married 3 Aug 1865 to Catherine Copeland. The seven year old daughter of Mr and Mrs George Mitchell of lower Hardin Creek died Monday; uried on Beech Creek. Bolt of lightening instantly killed Tom Merriman, prominent citizen of Waynesboro, and his horse on June 19, while he was in a field raking hay, age 25, body was charred; son of Harris Merriman and son-in-law of D S Caton.
Mr Clendenin departed this life on Wednesday, December 17 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. He was a native of Wayne County, born May 16, 1930 and a son of the late Carmack and Lura Conway Clendenin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Mack Clendenin and Jim Clendenin. Mr Clendenin served his country in the United States Navy for several years, was a Insurance Agent and lived in Grand Turks Islands for 10 years in the motel and restaurant business. He attended UNA for several years and was a former Collinwood City Commissioner. Survivors include sister Donna Rich and husband J W of Collinwood; nieces and nephews; and beloved-best friend of many years Peggy Brewer of Collinwood.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 19, V F W Post 4969, a life member of the DAV Chapter 22 and a member of the Riverview Baptist Church. He attended Columbia Central High School and Columbia Baptist College. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Barbara Gail Moore of Jonesboro, GA; one son, Tommy Cook of Bend, Oregon; two sisters, Miss Kathleen Cook and Mrs Raymond Walters both of Columbia; five grandchiildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was a native of Wayne County, a son of Walter Jand and Mora Pennington Crews. He was a retired employee of of the State Highway Department. Ernest Warrington, 66 Rt 1, Lutts, Tenn; died Thursday, from injuries sustained in a farm accident Thursday afternoon. Funeral services were held today at 3 pm at the Middle Tennessee Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro.

Mr. Hill was an electrician and plumber and had worked with Savannah Electric, Volunteer Electric, Inc., and was a State of Tennessee electrical inspector for Wayne County. He served in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. Ernest Denton, age 25, died Friday on White Oak; son of J A Denton; had been ill for three years. Mrs Sarah Daniels, wife of Louis Daniels, died Tuesday at home between Butlerr Creek and Little Cypress, was 69 last Jan 27. Walker Cunningham, infant son of A H and Laura Cunnningham, age 16 months, died at Ashland, Wayne County, of Flux. Charles Bundrant, 28, died Tuesday of Typhoid at home at Indian Creek, wife and two children survive.
